How to Use Amplify with a Private API Gateway?

0

I have configured a private API Gateway and want to integrate it with AWS Amplify. My application code calls the private API Gateway internally, but it is not working as expected.

  1. Is there a specific configuration needed in Amplify for private API Gateways?
  2. Are there additional steps required for network access?

Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Are you getting any specific errors?

Will give this a shot: I'm not aware of a way to connect between your front-end, which sits on your user's browser, directly with a private API G/W URL. What Amplify does is use Cloudfront to distribute your code front end to user browsers. It's not responsible to help the front-end communicate with other non-Amplify related back-end services. Private API calls can only be made from the same VPC, one option is to provide a public front end for the client to call. This could be a public facing ALB which then relays the API to your Private API GW https://repost.aws/knowledge-center/api-gateway-application-load-balancers
