Nice DCV movie quality question.

0

Hi,

In NiceDCV, when you play a movie, the movie quality will be reduced with some block noise.
When you stop the movie, the movie quality will return to normal.

Is it possible to force the movie quality to stay at the full quality during video playback?
(It would be nice if there was an option to easily switch between the two, even at the expense of fps and response time.

dcv server : centos 7 (+ nvidia gpu)
dcv client : windows 10

Hi,

are you using the TCP based or QUIC/UDP based protocol for movie streaming for best performance?

Which version of DCV do you use?

Did you try setting best quality in the Connection Settings -> Streaming Mode?

Block noise seem to indicate you are hitting bandwidth limits so your fps will probably drop when increasing the quality.

Best regards,
Karsten

Hi,

I tried both, and both produced block noise.

Which version of DCV do you use?

server 2021.1.10557-1
gl 2021.1.937-1
xdcv 2021.1.392-1
client 2021.1-7713

Did you try setting best quality in the Connection Settings -> Streaming Mode?

Yes, streaming mode is the best quality.

I also tried changing various settings by referring to the following web site,
but I could not completely remove the block noise.
