Issue with New Domain registration via Lightsail

0

Hi there,

I've registered a new domain when I start setting up a lightsail this morning. I was messed up with the zone registration in Lightsail and Route 53 initially, so I deleted the domain in Lightsail, and tried to create a Hosted Zone in Route 53. The 4 NS Servers registered during the domain registration were not the same as the 4 shown in Route 53 Hosted Zone record. I tried to delete the Hosted Zone in Route 53 and re-create again, but still not the same. I then modified the 4 NS servers in Route 53 Hosted Zone but yet unable to resolve any records/the new domain. I can't see my new domain in Lightsail anymore so I can't create the Hosted Zone in Lightsail now.

What should I do in order to control my new domain in Route 53?

Thanks in advance.

Hello.

You need to create a hosted zone with the correct NS records.
You can check the domain's NS record by using the "whois" command, etc., so check the NS record and change the Route53 NS record.

  • Hello Riku, I've figured out that inside Lightsail "Domains and DNS", go to the target Domain and select "Manage", there is an option to change the DNS severs. As you mentioned, I've updated the DNS servers according to the whois result. It seems propagating now, at least 8.8.8.8 could resolve them. Thank you for your help.
