To create a time series graph for every deviceid without adding a new query for each device, you can use Grafana's built-in functionality for handling multiple series. Here's how you can approach this:

  1. Start by creating a panel and selecting the Time series visualization.

  2. In your query, make sure to include the date, cpu_load, and deviceid columns. The exact query syntax will depend on your data source, but it should look something like this:

SELECT date, cpu_load, deviceid FROM your_table WHERE date BETWEEN $__timeFrom() AND $__timeTo()

  3. In the query editor, use the deviceid as a field for grouping or as a series. This will automatically create separate lines or data series for each unique deviceid.

  4. In the Panel editor, go to the Field tab to customize the appearance of your graph.

  5. Under the Style section, you can choose how you want to display your data - as Lines, Bars, or Points. Each style has its own set of customization options.

  6. If you choose Lines, you can adjust settings like line interpolation, width, fill opacity, and gradient mode.

  7. For Bars, you can set the bar alignment, width, and fill opacity.

  8. If you prefer Points, you can adjust the point size.

  9. Use the Legend options to display the deviceid for each series, making it easy to identify which line corresponds to which device.

  10. You can further customize your graph using options for the X and Y axes, thresholds, and color scheme to make the data more readable.

By following these steps, Grafana will automatically create a separate time series for each unique deviceid in your data, all within a single query and graph. This approach is scalable and will automatically update as new devices are added to your data.

Remember to adjust your query and graph settings based on your specific data structure and visualization needs.

Hello,

I understand that you have a table with the columns date, cpu_load and deviceid and you want to show a time series graph for every deviceid without adding a new query for each device ID.

Firstly in the query editor you can set the column value as deviceid which will help in generating separate data series for each unique deviceid.

Then in the query editor you can create a query something like this:

SELECT date_time, cpu_load, deviceid FROM device_metrics ORDER BY date_time ASC

In the visualization settings choose the "Time series" visualization type. You can also check the suggestions tab as well. Adjust the visualization according to your needs. You can also make use of the Legend options to display the deviceid for each series, which makes it easier to identify the corresponding device line.

When you implement these steps, each unique deviceid in your dataset will automatically generate its own distinct time series in Grafana. The best part is that this happens through just one query, displaying all results in a single graph.

I hope you find the above information helpful in addressing your concern.

Thank you and have a great day ahead!

What I actually needed was to add a Transform Data step, Prepare Time series, Multi-frame time series

Here's my query: SELECT date_parse(date,'%Y-%m-%dT%H:%i:%s.%fZ') as time, cpu_p as cpu, deviceid FROM cpu WHERE $__timeFilter(date_parse(date,'%Y-%m-%dT%H:%i:%s.%fZ')) AND deviceid in ($device_filter)
