Workmail: You have exceeded the sending limit for this account

0

I have recently started to receive the following error when sending from Workmail:

*You have exceeded the sending limit for this account.

2024-09-26 15:45:27 : An error occurred while trying to deliver the mail to the following recipients:*

I have not been having any issues previously (about a year), and this issue suddenly started recently. I sent maybe 1 or 2 emails per week. The account is served by SES and I am able to send emails using the simulator, which has production quotas allowed as well.

I see a number of similar questions, but no clear answer on how to fix this. Both SES and workmail are under us-west-2 so that shouldn't be an issue either I don't think.

Take a look at your SES quotas, like send rate and daily limits. Also check your SES Deliverability and Reputation data for any issues like complaints, bounces or blocks. Even if you're only sending a few emails, sometimes a drop in email reputation or temporary SES restrictions can trigger limits. Check out the links below if you need more help checking the items I suggested above.

  • No, all of that is fine. I had checked everything before posting this question and i just checked again.

I am neither going over quota in any way, nor is it a reputation issue. This seems to be a larger configuration issue that many are running into and AWS is not clarifying the root cause.
