Re-generate Name Server

0

Greetings, I moved a domain to NoIp, putting their name servers into my Route 53 registered domain. I need to move it back to Route 53 but did not save my Name Server for Route 53

Is there a way to re-generate new name servers for my domain?

Before transferring the domain back to Amazon Route53 , You need to identify where you would like to host your DNS service. Hosting DNS service means creating your DNS records .

If you would like to use NoIP or another 3rd party for DNS service , then you need to provide their hosted zone's Name Servers when you initiate a transfer registration of domain to Amazon Route53. If you would like to use Route53 for DNS service, then you can check in Route53 console, if there is any hosted zone that you have created in the past with the same domain name.

  • If hosted zone exist, use the name servers associated with R53 hosted zone when you initiate a transfer registration of domain to Amazon Route53.
  • If hosted zone does not exist, please create a new hosted zone in R53 with same domain name, which will give you 4 name servers which you can use to initiate a transfer registration of domain to Amazon Route53.

Steps to transfer a domain to Route53 can be found here

Note that , before transferring your domain to Route53, make sure you transfer DNS service as well either to Route53 or 3rd party because some registrar do not provide DNS service when you transfer registrar.

  • So, My domains are already registered to Route 53; I pointed the name server NoIP for a project and now know I should have saved my AWS name servers because, as I discovered, each dome NS is unique. So. I'm currently trying to point the domain back to Route 53.

  • Do you currently have hosted zone in Route53 for the same domain ? Or you are hosting domain via another 3rd party? If you have hosted zone in R53, you should see the Route53 Name servers which you can update in Amazon Domain Registrar by navigating to Registered domain section in R53 console and edit NoIP name servers with name servers from R53 hosted zone.

  • Hi, I'm sorry if this is confusing. My domains are already registered at R53, I did'nt create a host on R53, I pointed the domain to NoIP DNS for some work project.

When I registered the Domain on R53, I did not create a hosted zone or write down the DNS of the Registered domain, I just pointed the DNS to NoIP.

So even when I create a Hosted Zone now with that domain and replace the noip dns with the r53 dns, I'm getting no DNS PROPAGATION
