Pinpoint Voice Quota Clarification

0

Hello,

I'm attempting to use pinpoint to mass send out voice messages to parents of a school district, but I'm finding the quotas confusing. If there a limit of a max of 20 calls per minute, even with a production account (ie: non-sandbox)?

This page makes it sound like the 20 calls is a limit of sandbox accounts: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/pinpoint/latest/userguide/channels-voice-sandbox.html

but this page make it look like that is a limit on production accounts: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/pinpoint/latest/developerguide/quotas.html#quotas-voice (but it also states you can send 1 call per minute, but only for the first 20 seconds, as there is a max of 20 per minute then right?)

To me, 20 calls/minute seems very restrictive for an AWS product doesn't it? Is pinpoint the wrong tool for the job if I want an application to mass send (I was thinking like a few hundred a minute via lambda) automated TTS calls to our students?

Hello,

I understand that you are currently in the process of using Amazon Pinpoint to create a mass calling system and would like further clarification on Pinpoint's Voice quotas. Referring back to the documentation you linked, it appears that 1) the default limit for a sandbox account is 20 messages per day, 2) whereas for a non-sandbox account, the limit would be 20 messages per minute and is not eligible for increase. If you require hundreds of calls per minute, then you may want to consider using a different AWS service for your TTS calls.

Please let me know if this response helps or if you have any questions.
