The error message “ACM: Error message: Additional Verification Required” means that ACM requires additional information to process the certificate request. This occurs as a fraud-protection measure if your domain ranks within the Alexa top 1000 websites, for more information, see Error message: Additional Verification Required. The best way is to resolve the error is use AWS Support Center to contact AWS Support. AWS Support will assist you with further steps required to get your domains allow listed to be able to get a certificate.

As for renewal of your certificate for your domain, if the certificate was issued by Amazon Certificate Manager (ACM) it may be eligible for automatic renewal, provided it meets the considerations listed here: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/acm/latest/userguide/managed-renewal.html .

However if your certificate was imported, you will have to obtain a new certificate from your certificate issuer and then manually reimport it into ACM, for me information on this see https://docs.aws.amazon.com/acm/latest/userguide/import-certificate.html

I would recommend that you consider subscribing to AWS Support if you keep running into issues so that we will be able to check your issue and provide more details on how you can resolve the issue : https://aws.amazon.com/premiumsupport/plans/
