I just recently (in the past 2 weeks) started to experience the same issue with a Lightsail instance that has been operating reliably for over a year. I cannot connect to the instance via my own SSH client (which normally works) nor the Lightsail console SSH client. While I have installed some Ubuntu updates, I have not made any other Lightsail machine configuration changes.
My instance is currently down. The "Instance status check failures" metric shows a failure since 11:35am. ("System status check failures" shows no failures.)
Yes, have been dealing with that since I started using it. I am now switching to other service
Customers have experienced issues when using the smallest instance sizes. Consult the CPU metrics https://lightsail.aws.amazon.com/ls/docs/en_us/articles/amazon-lightsail-viewing-instance-burst-capacity and zoom out to a day to see if there were times when you exhausted the burst capacity. Typically customers who use a slightly larger instance have resolved their issues.
SSH consumes CPU which is why you may be unable to access your instance via SSH when you've exceeded burst capacity.
i think the issue caused bz of following reason
*Insufficient resources: Ensure that your instances have sufficient resources, such as CPU, memory, and disk space, to run your workloads. You can use the monitoring and logging features of LightSail to monitor the resource usage of your instances.
*Software bugs or issues: Make sure you are running the latest software versions and that you have applied all necessary software updates.
*Inadequate scaling: Make sure your instances are properly scaled to handle the load that your application is receiving. You can use Auto Scaling to automatically scale your instances based on metrics like CPU and memory usage.
*Configuration error : Check your Configuration (Firewall, Security Group)and make sure they are properly configured to allow the traffic and communication you are expecting
to avoid this issue happening regularly you can use some of AWS tools such as EC2, RDS, Elastic Beanstalk
Thank you for your response. I have been experiencing unexpected downtime with my Lightsail instances, even though my website does not have a high level of traffic and the resource usage remains within sustainable levels. Furthermore, I have checked for any bugs with WordPress and it seems that the website is not causing the issue.
I have considered that the issue may not be caused by inadequate scale, but I am uncertain as to what may be the root cause of the problem. I have not made any changes to the default configurations.
I am aware that I could have used EC2, but I chose Lightsail for its cost-effectiveness. Nevertheless, the current issue is causing inconvenience and I would like to find a solution or an explanation for the problem. Can you provide any additional guidance or information on how to resolve the issue or prevent it from recurring?
Lightsail uses burstable instances. Look at the CPU metrics for your instance to understand whether you're exceeding your sustained capacity https://lightsail.aws.amazon.com/ls/docs/en_us/articles/amazon-lightsail-viewing-instance-burst-capacity
Please check the updated question with the screenshot. It's really not a service that depend upon, unfortunately.

The graph above only shows usage for the preceding hour. Are there any spikes when zooming out further?
