If you're having trouble accessing phpMyAdmin on your EC2 instance, there are several potential issues to check:
-
First, verify that your EC2 instance is running properly. If you haven't used it in a while, check that it's in the "running" state and has passed all status checks in the EC2 console.
-
Check your security group settings to ensure that the necessary ports are open. For phpMyAdmin, you'll need HTTP (port 80) or HTTPS (port 443) access from your IP address.
-
If you're using SSH tunneling to access phpMyAdmin (which is common for security reasons), you may need to set up the tunnel again:
- In PuTTY, under Connection > SSH > Tunnels, set source port to 8888 and destination to 127.0.0.1:80
- Add the tunnel and then open the connection
- Then try accessing phpMyAdmin via http://your-public-ip/phpmyadmin in your browser
- If you're still having issues, you might need to SSH into the instance to check if the phpMyAdmin service is running correctly. For a Bitnami-based setup, the username would typically be "bitnami".
To get help from an AWS IQ consultant again:
- Visit the AWS IQ service through your AWS Management Console
- Create a new request describing your phpMyAdmin access issue
- AWS IQ will match you with qualified experts who can help resolve your issue
Since this was set up by a consultant previously, you might also want to check if you have any documentation they provided about the setup configuration.
