SES Production access 🙌 A nightmare

0

Hello 👋 everyone

I have been reading the SES-Developer guide since Monday, and carefully going through everything from forums, Reddit, and any material I could find on how to get my SES account moved out of sandbox environment into production.

I ensured to have full knowledge on the questions I should answer to when requesting production access to SES. (https://go.aws/4aj0zwY)

In this particular request in the eu-west-1 region (which I can't upload here as it contains personal information), I have been denied production access about 3 times now. Eventhough, I have worked with the rest of my team the entire day, providing additional information and examples of emails we plan to send.

It's frustrating as the responses we get from the AWS Trust & Safety Team are very point blank and appear to be canned messages for rejecting.

Matter of fact, it appears as if the responses are generated by a bot; because we had just opened the case and provided additional information, immediately case status changed to "Work in Progress" q minute later, the request had been declined.

So my question is: What kind of careful review is this going on???? Are our requests that we have carefully curated just getting trashed like nothing.

Is AWS SES Team deliberately chasing away medium-sized businesses that want to join their platform?

So many Question Marks, ????

Hello Active SES Occupant: your block is now charged with permissive inactive coercion. 5 ration units deducted... but seriously, that sucks. SES is known for having stringent review processes, as you've come to find out.

Can you consider using a different region? Have you mentioned your plans for scaling and how you intend to manage sending limits? How does your website look? AWS might consider the way your website looks to make sure you are a legit business. Have you mentioned your compliance with anti-spam laws? Maybe the bots you're talking to need to have the right criteria to not filter out your requests.

Maybe the dead internet theory is right and we are all just robots speaking into this echo chamber. I could be a robot or maybe you are the robot!! Why do I have memories of being a human child?! Get out of my head!!

Yeah, thats about all I got. Sorry, but bureaucratics stink...IF all else fails, try and reach out to a different support channel, like business support. Maybe they be more personable.
