Can AWS Backup be used to backup an Amazon RDS managed Oracle or MS-SQL database?

Yes AWS Backup can be used to back up RDS databases including Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.

Hello,

AWS Backup supports Amazon RDS database instances (including all database engines); Multi-Availability Zone clusters.

This Blog Post provides a step-by-step guidance to backup your RDS for Oracle instances using AWS Backup.
In case you need to have Cross-Region AND Cross-Account backups which are not supported at the same time, you can use the workaround described here.
