If you open the RDS in question, it’s the first tab (Connectivity & Security)
The Endpoint is the host name you need.
If you need too, you can modify the RDS instance and reset the Admin password if needed.

I figured it out by adding a vps and setting the database to public access I can now connect with Heidi and laravel

Sorry I've tried to connect to the endpoint as well as the Amazon Resource Name
I have created an aurora and MySQL database and I can't connect to either of them from within Heidi
Ok. Need more information here. How are you connecting to AWS from Hedi? When you resolve the name via NSLookup do you get a public or private IP? How is your security group configured?
