File Gateway running in Hyper-V on premise fails to start up

0

I have a storage gateway that has been running for a while now and today we were unable to access the file shares. The VM was restarted but doesn't get to the menu.

  1. Is there a way to run a diagnostic boot which lets me capture the output to look for errors? I used pause/resume to step through the boot process and nothing looked like an error.
  2. How do you recover a failed file gateway?

Thanks

I restored the system disk of the gateway from a VEEAM backup and the gateway came up OK.

Hello,

I'm Mike with the Storage Gateway team. I'm glad you were able to get your storage gateway running again. Should you run into a similar situation, you can take steps to verify and recover the system disk as described in these steps:

https://docs.aws.amazon.com/storagegateway/latest/userguide/recover-data-from-gateway.html#recover-corrupt-file-system

Please let me know if you have any more questions.
