How to log in to vCenter Server, have not seen an ip address

0

I am new to AWS and am trying to set up an Amazon S3 File Gateway. I am following their tutorial, which instructs me to download OVF template and "connect to your VMware ESXi hypervisor using your VMware vSphere client." I have tried to set up a vSphere Client but the first step says to go to https://vcenter_server_ip_address_or_fqdn, and I have not seen any sort of ip address to enter in anywhere. It seems like these instructions have some major gaps, can anyone assist? Many thanks.

If you have direct access to the ESXi server's console, the currently assigned IP address is displayed there. The other option is to contact the person in your organization who installed and configured the ESXi server and obtain the IP address from them. For additional clarification, the VMware ESXi hypervisor is part of your IT infrastructure not Amazon's.

Thanks - the problem is that we don't have ESXi server console (I had never heard of it before yesterday). I literally just signed up for AWS yesterday and tried following some tutorials on how to establish S3 so that I can move our data storage from OneDrive to AWS.

Hello Kjtpe,

Thank you for reaching out. I understand that you are have signed up for AWS recently and tried following a tutorial to test AWS storage gateway to move your data from OneDrive to AWS S3 but during the set up process, looks like you are having issues getting to the VMWare vSphere Client.

In order to guide you through the Storage Gateway setup and troubleshoot any issues, please open a case with AWS support.

Thank You!
