Hello,
The additional charge for RDS Extended Support automatically stops when you take one of the following actions:
- Upgrade to an engine version that's covered under standard support.
- Delete the database that's running a major version past the RDS end of standard support date.
So, there is actually no need to pay any additional fees as the Postgres 12.17 version is in Standard support

Hello,
You can confirm the Extended Support billing is stopped by looking at Cost Explorer (switch to a daily view to avoid monthly aggregation). Use RDS as service filter and "Usage Type" as grouping parameter to see the RDS charges separately.
