IAM Identity Center Broken

0

I tried enabling IAM Identity Center (as part of following guides to enable amazon Q developer integration with VSCode).

I'm pretty sure i enabled it in the us-east-1 region (despite this not being the region i use for deploying my solution - amazon Q can only be enabled there so i figured this would be a safe bet for Identity Center)

However now, whichever region I'm on in identity center, it gives me a button to enable it. If I do it gives this message:

An error occurred You have already registered another region

This happens in every single region.

Seems like some kind of bug. Anyone encountered this and got past it? I saw another thread with people having the same issue but no solution

Thanks, Mokes

Considering the error you keep getting I will suggest you reach the AWS Support and,

  1. Open a case with AWS Support and provide them with the details of the issue you're facing.
  2. Request them to reset or disable the IAM Identity Center configuration in the region where you initially enabled it (us-east-1 in your case).
  3. Once the configuration is reset or disabled by AWS Support, you should be able to enable IAM Identity Center in the desired region.

Also, here are some AWS docs that can give general knowledge on IAM Identity Center. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/singlesignon/latest/userguide/what-is.html https://docs.aws.amazon.com/singlesignon/latest/userguide/getting-started.html

Unfortunately Identity Center currently works in one region. Here is an article that gives information about choosing the Identity Center location.
