HIVE_CANNOT_OPEN_SPLIT Error from Athena query

Anywhere i can get further context to this error? I can download this file and decode it with out issue using the same avro schema locally, i'm assuming i have not done something correctly in the athena SerDe setup or something like that. HIVE_CANNOT_OPEN_SPLIT: Error opening Hive split s3://si-kafkaconnect/topics/lidar_analysis/year=2022/month=03/day=22/hour=08/lidar_analysis+0+0371435909.bin (offset=0, length=3287906) using org.apache.hadoop.hive.ql.io.avro.AvroContainerInputFormat: Not a data file.
