In the case of Amazon Lightsail instances, the number of vCPUs listed in the instance specifications represents the number of virtual CPUs allocated to the instance. However, the billing is based on the instance size you selected and the associated pricing tier, rather than the specific number of vCPUs.
In your scenario, even though your Lightsail instance may have 2 vCPUs, since you selected the $5/month instance, you will be charged according to the pricing tier associated with that specific instance size. The pricing is fixed based on the instance size you choose, irrespective of the number of vCPUs allocated.
Therefore, you will not be charged additional fees for having 2 vCPUs on your $5/month Lightsail instance. The pricing remains as per the selected instance size, regardless of the number of vCPUs.
