You can use AWS Advance Pay - see here for how to use Advance Pay: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/awsaccountbilling/latest/aboutv2/manage-advancepay.html Please note that there are some restrictions to using Advance Pay: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/awsaccountbilling/latest/aboutv2/billing-limits.html#limits-ap
Very unpleasant. Maybe there is a (or many) reason(s) for not allowing direct debiting cards in Advance Pay. But when you want to add some credits into your AWS account and forget about it 6 months.. you can't
AWS does not typically allow users to pre-purchase credits directly for future use. However, you have a few options to consider:
AWS Savings Plans or Reserved Instances: You can use the funds to purchase Savings Plans or Reserved Instances, effectively pre-paying for compute usage over a 1- or 3-year term. This locks in discounted rates for EC2, Lambda, and Fargate usage.
AWS Training and Certification: You could use the funds to pre-pay for AWS training courses, certification exams, or even AWS IQ services for consulting.
Third-Party Resellers: Some AWS resellers offer prepaid credits, but you would need to confirm with your company if this is acceptable.
AWS Marketplace Subscriptions: You can pre-pay for software or services in the AWS Marketplace that you intend to use in the coming months.
Contact AWS Support: Reach out to AWS Support to explain your situation. They may offer a custom solution or provide guidance on maximizing the funds.
