default VPC for my old AWS account

0

I have an old aws account that has support for ec2-classic in n. virginia and n. california. I would like the ec2-classic to be removed so I can create a default vpc for these regions. I opened a 'basic' case over a week ago and they are still working on it. I don't have any ec2-classic resources being used so it can be safely removed. Can someone tell me why this is taking over a week? Can someone else initiate this process please?

Incredible how I can get a swift resolution to this by opening a public forum post on the AWS forums while waiting over a week opening a private ticket with this request. Thank you!!!
