Amazon SES Auto-Approvals May Be Damaging Shared IP Reputation

It appears that some AWS accounts are being AUTOMATICALLY granted production access despite very limited AWS activity, broken or suspicious domains. Obviously that these accounts are then used for spam or other problematic campaigns, they can negatively impact more than just their own reputation. Every campaign sent through Amazon SES impacts the reputation of shared IP pools. Correct users who follow AWS best practices, maintain permission-based mailing lists, and properly authenticate their domains may still receive lower inbox positions because they are using shared infrastructure. I believe that the production access process should include a more thorough review of domains and accounts for automatic approval. I hope that SES will take note of user complaints and analyze the auto-approval system and improve it.!
