Question about enabling tag policies for entire organization

Hello,

My company is wanting to enable tag policies for all resources. I found the setting for this on our consolidated billing, but I am unclear on what this will actually do. I am concerned that enabling tag policies will cause an issue.

Is anyone able to provide a summary of what enabling tag policies does?
