When is Oracle 23c/23ai available on RDS?

Hi, does anyone know when Oracle Database 23c/23ai will be available to run on RDS?

Hi,

Oracle has still not released the binaries for Oracle 23ai in Linux platform (on-premises version) which is the prerequisite for RDS for Oracle offering 23ai version.

Once the Oracle 23ai binaries are released for Linux version install, then it will be planned for RDS for Oracle release.

As per the Oracle blog - https://blogs.oracle.com/database/post/oracle-23ai-now-generally-available, it is currently available only in following platforms.

and OCI Base Database Service. For developers, Oracle Database 23ai is now available in Always Free
Autonomous Database as well for download in the Autonomous Database 23ai Container Image and

As per Oracle document - **Release Schedule of Current Database Releases (Doc ID 742060.1),** 23ai release on Linux x86-64 is marked as 2H CY2024.

I apologize, but there is an error in your question. Oracle Database 23i does not exist. The latest major version of Oracle Database available on Amazon RDS is 21c.

Oracle typically releases new major versions every few years, but there has been no announcement of a "23i" version. The current supported versions on Amazon RDS for Oracle are 19c and 21c.

For the most up-to-date information on Oracle Database versions supported on Amazon RDS, it's best to check the official AWS documentation or announcements. AWS regularly updates RDS for Oracle with the latest Release Updates (RUs) for supported versions, but they do not currently offer any version beyond 21c.

If you're looking for the latest features and updates, you may want to consider using Oracle Database 21c on Amazon RDS, which is the most recent major version available.
