Static IP address being used instead of domain - getting SSL error

0

Hey folks, reasonably regularly I am getting an SSL error on a clients Wordpress site hosted on Lightsail casuing images to not show. The cause seems to be the image src is using the server static IP instead of the client's domain name.

eg. <img src="https://123.123.1.1/wp-content/uploads/image.jpg"> appears in code, which should be <img src="https://mydomain.com/wp-content/uploads/image.jpg">

I have checked the wp-config.php and the site url is correctly set as the domain name. Any ideas why the IP address is being used instead of the domain name?

  • Hi there, yes the client's domain name is entered correctly in those two fields. This appears to make no difference to the issue. The DNS is with Cloudflare if this may be an issue?

  • One thing I did notice... the siteurl and home values in wp_options were set to http://127.0.0.1. So the wp-config values were correct but not the database?
