Backup Solutions for Amazon OpenSearch Service: Seeking Updated Recommendations

0

Hello,

I'm looking to establish a robust backup strategy for my OpenSearch environment. I noticed that AWS Backup doesn't currently support OpenSearch Service, and the available documentation https://docs.aws.amazon.com/opensearch-service/latest/developerguide/managedomains-snapshots.html#managedomains-snapshot-registerdirectory seems outdated, referring to Elasticsearch, which is no longer directly provided by AWS.

Could someone please guide me on how to effectively set up backups for Amazon OpenSearch Service within the AWS ecosystem? I would greatly appreciate any insights, recommended practices, or alternative solutions to securely manage and create backups for my OpenSearch cluster.

Thank you in advance for your valuable assistance and advice!

Hi,

Did you envision AWS OpenSearch Snaphots ?

It may be a good solution for you. See https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/big-data/unleash-the-power-of-snapshot-management-to-take-automated-snapshots-using-amazon-opensearch-service/

Best,

Didier
