Thanks for using Lightsail. The default user name can't be changed. However, you can add another user to the instance using 'sudo adduser new-user-name'. Please note that some of the functionalities on the Lightsail console will not apply to the new user name.

This functionality is not unique to Lightsail ... it's a basic Linux function.
In fact, 95% of the functionality inside a Amazon Linux instance is unrelated to Lightsail, it's all basic system administration.
