Elasticache NetworkBandwidthOutAllowanceExceeded m5.xlarge, m5.2xlarge, m5.4xlarge

1

Hi,

We were running Elasticache m5.xlarge till last week. We found some latency with Redis requests, when we checked the metrics, there seems to be no issues with CPU and Memory. And we found that, there were some values for NetworkBandwidthOutAllowanceExceeded. So we increased changed Elasticache instance type from m5.xlarge to m5.2xlarge. Even after that we were still seeing some values for NetworkBandwidthOutAllowanceExceeded.

So, We upgraded Elasticache to m5.4xlarge, we still see the metric NetworkBandwidthOutAllowanceExceeded is showing some values.

In last 12 hours, the peak NetworkBytesOut is 2970304512, when I converted this into Gigabits per second, I get, 0.368841553. Baseline Bandwidth for m5.4xlarge is 5Gbps. So, 0.368841553 is less than 5. But still we are seeing NetworkBandwidthOutAllowanceExceeded.

Can someone help me in understanding if the metric shows correct values? NetworkBandwidthOutAllowanceExceeded
