rdp password invalid after reattaching ebs volume

0

due to eliminating paid services, aws billing support said to detach the ebs volume and delete it after creating a new instance with a new ebs. i then had to attach the new ebs to my original instance and then delete the old instance. now the rdp password isn'T working anymore as it says the credentials did not work. how do i apply a new password to my original instance or make the credentials work again using the original password?

Hello.

Why not try resetting your password using the steps described in the document below?
I think this procedure can be used on any Windows Server using EC2Launch v2.
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/ResettingAdminPassword_EC2Launchv2.html

Additionally, if your EC2 instance is registered as a Systems Manager managed instance, you can also reset your password by following the steps in the document below.
