How to delete CloudFront records created by deleted Amplify App

0

Hello, I want to reuse the domain I purchased and once associated with an Amplify App that no longer exists. I am trying to create a new CloudFront distribution but it denies my apply and notifies that records for domain exist, even when there are no resources on my AWS account. I want to remove these zombie records.

Br, Martti

Hello.

As stated in the following document, your domain may be in use by CloudFront hosted in another AWS account.
If the domain is being used by an AWS account that you do not control, you will need to contact AWS Support.
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/amplify/latest/userguide/troubleshooting-custom-domains.html#i-get-a-cnamealreadyexistsexception-error

If this domain was successfully connected to another app and then deleted within the last hour, try again after at least one hour has passed. If you still see this exception after 6 hours, contact Support. For more information, see Creating a support case in the AWS Support User Guide.

You can use the "list-conflicting-aliases" command to see the AWS accounts and distribution IDs that are using your domain, masked.

aws cloudfront list-conflicting-aliases \
  --distribution-id yyyy \
  --alias '*.example.com'
