After Logging into PostgreSQL instance with token, could you change the token to a new password?

I followed these steps: https://aws.amazon.com/premiumsupport/knowledge-center/rds-postgresql-connect-using-iam/ and was able to login into the RDS postgreSQL instance with a created user and its token. My question is: Is there a way to change that token into a password? I am creating users for that RDS...and would like to provide them passwords. I hope my question make sense. Or if you have suggestions on how to go about this.

Hi,

So the documentation is talking about IAM authentication. We can still use password authentication if when configuring the RDS PostgreSQL with database authentication below:

`Password and IAM database authentication

Authenticates using the database password and user credentials through AWS IAM users and roles.`

Then you will just need to alter the user with a password following PostgreSQL official doc: https://www.postgresql.org/docs/12/sql-alteruser.html

User then can log in using either IAM or password authentication.
