AWS Backup restore testing for RDS continuous backup

0

Hi,

I currently have a backup plan for DynamoDB tables and an RDS instance. The backup for RDS is continuous.

I would like to setup the new feature Restore testing in my backup plan. Let's say the restore testing plan is set to only look for recovery point in the last 2 weeks. And let's say the first execution of my original backup plan was 1 month ago.

It goes well for DynamoDB because it sees the daily recovery points for DynamoDB. But since the backup plan started one month ago, the creation time of the RDS continuous recovery point is date to 1 month ago, thus is not detected by the restore testing plan. It results in the RDS recovery point not being tested/restored.

  • Am I correct in assuming this ?
  • If yes, how can I remediate to this and have my RDS recovery point tested by the restore testing plan?

Thanks!
