Increase the size of the Application Settings VHDX on MacOS

The documentation of AppStream explains the steps to increase the size of the Application Settings VHDX on Windows, but not on MacOS. Could you provide pointers or help on how to do it in this environment? As far as I know, there is no direct way to change the volume of a .vhdx file on MacOS.

What I usually advise is the following process:

  1. Create an EC2 Windows machine
  2. Download from the S3 bucket the .vhdx file to this EC2
  3. Apply the commands inside the EC2 on the .vhdx file
  4. Upload to the S3 the modified .vhdx file
