As far as I know, I don't think there is any other way than to migrate to IA in the lifecycle.

hi, Do you have documentation for this?
I believe this answer is correct. It's stated here: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/efs/latest/ug/features.html#storage-classes: "New file system data is first written to the EFS Standard storage class and then can be tiered to the EFS Infrequent Access and EFS Archive storage classes by using lifecycle management."
