Adding a Subdomain (<sub-domain>.domain.com) to Existing Certificate (domain.com)

0

Is this possible? I would prefer to modify existing My question is:

  1. Is there is a way to modify the existing record/certificate? (I don't see the ability).

  2. If I can't modify the existing record, I should delete the existing certificate? Or have two certificates?

  3. Can one certificate hold both domain.com and *.domain.com?

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

  1. No it is not possible to edit an existing certificate to add more domains or a sub-domain of an already existing domain on an ACM certificate.

  2. In case you wish to obtain a certificate for a new domain or sub-domain you can either have two separate certificates for the domain and sub-domain or delete the older certificate and request a new certificate with both the domain and sub-domain on the certificate.

  3. Yes a single certificate can hold domain.com & **.domain.com. Also the same certificate can also have domain1.com & **.domain1.com

I hope this helps.

Thanks.

As I understand, we get 1 free certificate per load balancer? So if I were to do creating a 2nd certificate, it would charge?

Hello,

Regarding your query "As I understand, we get 1 free certificate per load balancer? So if I were to do creating a 2nd certificate, it would charge?"

Please note that ACM certificates are free of cost. Hence, you request any number of ACM certificate and all the certificates would be free of cost. For your specific scenario both the ACM certificates would be free.

Thank You.
