transferred domain name not recognized after waiting for about a week

I have a domain that was transferred from AWS account (from Europe) to my AWS account in the US. It is not being recognized by DNS and I am unable to verify the domain from NSLOOKUP for almost a week.

I don't have access to the other account from which the domain was transferred. The previous owner deleted the hosted zone associated with the domain

Hi There

When you transfer a domain, the Name Servers will still point to the old DNS provider. If the previous owner deleted the hosted zone, then you need to create a new hosted zone in Route53, recreate the DNS records, and point your domain to it.
