After making an image and creating a bundle I get a repeated error

There was an error creating the WorkSpace. Retry the request. If the problem persists, contact AWS support.

It's Amazon Linux and the original machine boots fine, but for whatever reason, for every new user I create a new workspace, I'm stuck with a non-descript error message..

How do I even begin to debug this? I tried to make a new image and bundle, move regions but it's still the same problem?

Errors provisioning WorkSpaces can be caused by connectivity issues to your Directory Service. Are you able to check your directory service logs and see if there are issues there?

I am not able to see my logs it seems, nor can I share my logs as outlined here: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/directoryservice/latest/admin-guide/ms_ad_enable_log_forwarding.html

However, I have setup a fresh directory service in another region and i'm also facing the same issues there.

However, a normal linux image from amazon itself boots fine, so I guess that means there's something wrong with my image?
