Can send but not receive emails

0

Hello, I have some emails set up in MS office 365 and some are on AWS workmail for a register domain. So, to receive emails in MS office 365 and AWS webmail I set two MX records under Route 53 records. The current MX recrods value is https://tinyurl.com/ybf2ylkg . But after adding Outlook mail server in MX records the AWS webmail stop receiving emails and sender gets bounce notification.

Please check it and let know if you need more details on it.

Thanks & regards!

Thanks for the reply! I tried to setup a replay in MS office exchange but didn't worked for me. I have a query, Do I need to keep both MX records in AWS Route 53 or remove or only keep the primary mail server?

  • Hi,

The MX records should contain the service that is the primary mail handler. Backup servers for that service can be added with a lower priority.

    Kind regards, Robin

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing problems with receiving mail. In the MX record dns record you can only have 1 primary server to receive mail, the server with the lowest priority will receive the mail. Others will only be tried when the first server is unavailable.

To achieve mail delivery on two different services, your primary service will need to redirect mails destined for the other service.

Kind regards, Robin
