Hi Oussama,

In the process of using the last features of the service the last AMI available should be used. The instance requirements can be found in the File Gateway documentation ( https://docs.aws.amazon.com/storagegateway/latest/userguide/Requirements.html ). In the meanwhile the instance type choice is tied to the usage of Gateway , monitoring resources on the gateway can help to have the best suitable instance type. ( https://docs.aws.amazon.com/storagegateway/latest/userguide/Main_monitoring-gateways-common.html )

Thanks nabil

Hello, I'm Mike with the Storage Gateway team.

A good starting point for EC2 if you don't know your workload requirements is m5.xlarge and make the root volume of the gateway GP3.
