WorkMail SMTP gateway not creating.

I wish to create SMTP gateway for my WorkMain. Reason behind is that everything is working with email client (thunderbird). But the problem is mails are going throe primary email ID only. I wish to send mails throe Alias email ID also. I have done everything but I am getting error: Failed to connect to the SMTP gateway. Verify that your gateway configuration is correct and reachable from public network.

Hi,
The WorkMail SMTP gateway settings are used to configure a SMTP gateway, not to create one. The SMTP gateway will be used to route mail via the configured SMTP gateway instead of directly delivering the mail to the recipient.
