First experience - Solutions Architect

0

Hello! Are there places that hire aws architects with no experience? I acquired Solutions Architect Associate but I only see companies asking for experience in the role šŸ˜•

  • One route you could take at AWS at least is to apply for a Technical Account Manager - a solid understanding of Cloud technologies can get you in that role - and in your time as a Technical Account Manager you can train for additional SA / AWS certs and gain critical hands on experience - many Technical Account Managers shift into SA roles within a few years at AWS.

It can indeed be challenging to find positions that require no prior experience. Most companies desire professionals with some level of hands-on experience to ensure they're capable of handling the responsibilities that come with the role. However, there are a few avenues you could explore to increase your chances of being hired as a Solutions Architect with no experience:

  • Career Transition within the Same Company: If you're currently working for a company that uses AWS, you might be able to transition into a Solutions Architect role within the same company. Companies are often more willing to take a chance on current employees because they're already familiar with the company's culture and processes.

  • Build a Portfolio: Building a portfolio of projects that showcase your skills can be another effective way to demonstrate your abilities as a Solutions Architect. This could involve contributing to open-source projects, working on personal projects, or even doing freelance work.

  • Networking: Attending industry events, joining relevant professional organizations, and networking with other professionals in the field can often lead to job opportunities. You never know who might be looking for a Solutions Architect, and personal connections can often open doors that would otherwise remain closed.

  • Leverage your Other Skills: If you have experience in related fields like software development, systems engineering, or network administration, be sure to highlight these skills on your resume and in your interviews. They can often be transferred to a Solutions Architect role and can make you a more attractive candidate.

architect roles require experience because according to me solution architect requires lots of skills - not just technical but also some soft skills because the purpose of solution architecture is to build a solution to solve a problem you need to understand the problem clearly and you need to guide the customers or stakeholders and such kind f guidance requires experience generally. I offer you start searching with a specialist role and find 1-2 subtopics to gain more and more depth knowledge and see how cloud architectures are created for different kinds of projects and then start to apply for architect-level roles.
