Do Skill Builder Courses Count Towards ETC Points?

0

I am a learner in AWS Educate and have completed the “Getting Started with Compute” badge, which I understand is eligible for points in the Emerging Talent Community (ETC).

I also completed the “Cloud Practitioner Essentials” course in AWS Skill Builder, but I noticed that the points from this course have not appeared in my ETC account.

Could you please clarify:

Do Skill Builder courses contribute points to the ETC?

If not, which activities in AWS Educate/ETC are required to earn points towards rewards like free vouchers?

Thank you for your help!

Based on the information available, AWS Educate and the Emerging Talent Community (ETC) have a specific point system that works as follows:

To earn points in the ETC, you need to complete badge-eligible training through AWS Educate. While you've completed the "Getting Started with Compute" badge which is eligible for ETC points, there are a few things to consider regarding your points not appearing:

  1. There may be a processing delay between completing a badge and having the points reflected in your account. This delay can vary from a few days to longer periods.

  2. AWS Educate often verifies student status or institutional affiliation before awarding points, which can take additional time.

  3. Not all courses or badges may be eligible for points, even if they're valuable learning resources.

To earn enough points for rewards like the Cloud Practitioner exam voucher, you need to accumulate 4,500 points through eligible activities within the ETC. These points can be earned through:

  • Completing badge-eligible training
  • Participating in quizzes
  • Completing labs
  • Taking surveys

If you've waited a reasonable amount of time (about a week) and still don't see your points updated, it would be advisable to contact AWS Educate support directly for assistance with your specific situation.

The AWS Skill Builder courses themselves (outside of the AWS Educate program) appear to be separate from the ETC points system, though they provide valuable learning opportunities and in some cases hands-on experience through AWS Builder Labs with a subscription.
