Problem in claiming 1st phone number in amazon connect instance

0

I have created my 1st aws connect instance but I am unable to claim my 1st phone number. It shows that quota is for 5 numbers but I am unable to claim the 1st phone number itself.

I understand you're having trouble claiming your first phone number in your Amazon Connect instance. This is a common issue that new users sometimes face. Here's what might be happening and what you can try:

  1. Even though the quota is set for 5 numbers, there can sometimes be issues with claiming the first number due to various reasons, including regional availability or temporary service constraints.

  2. First, make sure you're trying to claim a number in the same AWS Region where you created your Amazon Connect instance. The ClaimPhoneNumber API can only be called in the same region as your instance.

  3. If you're using the Amazon Connect console, try selecting a different region, such as N. Virginia (us-east-1), which often has better availability of phone numbers.

  4. If you're still encountering issues, you might be running into a temporary limit or restriction. In some cases, new accounts or instances may have additional verification steps or temporary limitations for security reasons.

  5. Unfortunately, as you mentioned you have a free account, you may not be able to open a support ticket directly. However, you can try raising a service quota increase request from your AWS Management Console. This action might prompt AWS Support to look into your specific case and potentially resolve the issue.

  6. If none of the above steps work, you may need to delete your current instance and create a new one. Sometimes, this can resolve initialization issues with new Amazon Connect instances.

If you continue to face problems after trying these steps, you might need to consider upgrading to a paid account to get access to AWS Support for more direct assistance with this issue. Remember, claiming phone numbers is a critical function for Amazon Connect, so if the problem persists, it's worth getting it resolved through official support channels.
