RDS status stuck on Modifying State

Question

Hi Team,

We have an RDS instance of MSSQL with instance type db.m6i.2xlarge configured in multi AZ with read replica enabled. Recently we faced some slownrss on our app side hence decided to upgrade the RDS instance.

Here is configuration:
MSSQL RdS primary - db.m6i.2xlarge
MSSQL RDS read replica - db.m6i.4xlarge

We tried to upgrade primary to db.m6i.4xlarge instance but this instance went into modifying state from last couple of hour. We are able to connect the instance but state remains unchanged. This has major impact on our performance side.

We are trying to create an RDS instance on Our POC account it's getting created and but going under modifying state.

Hello, if your instance is in modifying state for hours and your business is impacted, I would suggest you to reach out to AWS support by creating a support case and AWS support will help you to troubleshoot the issue. Thanks
