AWS Root Email Verification Failed

I'm being prompted to verify the email to my root account whenever logging into the management console. I proceed to find the email with the verification code, enter in the code to the prompt, and have the verification fail.

This has been happening for several months now. I now need to fix this issue because I've been alerted I need to verify my email within 30 days.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Even if you change your email address, it won't be verified?
You can change the AWS root user's email address by following the steps in the document below.
