AWS reservation for RDS instances are cross acounts transferable?

0

Hi, I have following case: On AWS account A, there is a RDS instance which is reserved (egz 1 year, partial upfront). This RDS have to be moved on AWS account B, before the reservation mapped on it to expire on account A. Is it possible to transfer the reservation(billing) from AWS account A to B?

Thank you.

Hello.

Reserved Instances are not directly transferable between accounts due to their association with the account that purchased them. However, AWS provides a mechanism to effectively "share" Reserved Instance (RI) benefits across accounts within an organization using AWS Organizations and the consolidated billing feature. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/awsaccountbilling/latest/aboutv2/ri-turn-off.html
