Failed to validate connection to RDS within QuickSight dataset

0

I'm following the guide for analytic practice in here: https://aws.amazon.com/getting-started/hands-on/visualize-data-amazon-rds-sql-server-using-amazon-quicksight/?ref=gsrchandson&id=itprohandson

In the 8.i step, while adding new dataset in RDS for QuickSight, it appears connection timeout error Enter image description here

I've setup the inbound and outbound settings following the guide, and I've created the table from MS SQL server studio. Can anyone help me with this connection problem? Thanks

Usual issues are : 1- RDS Security group not allowing inbound from Quicksight 2- NACL on the subnet blocking traffic (if multiple subnets are involved) 3- RDS Subnet group not having all private subnets (May be one or two are public subnets) 4- Quicksight not using VPC connection.

  • Hello, thanks for response. I've alread added the VPC connection to QuickSight, and the VPC IP is under the VCP security group that have inbound and outbounds settings: Inbound: allow all TCP and all streaming Outbound:allow all streaming

The VPC connection I added to QuickSight use all 3 SubNet which is available. I'm not sure what can I test for checking.
