New cost and usage report vs Detailed billing

Question

I have nicely tagged up all my resources in AWS to show which project is using them and have the detailed billing being delivered to an S3 bucket on a daily basis with the costs breakdown. When I compare these costs to the New cost and usage report they do not agree. They are close but still out.

Is there a reason for the difference? I can't see any filters that I have applied. Some costs are more, some are less.

Hi TME John,

This is actually a known issue, as noted in the [Detailed Billing Reports](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/cur/latest/userguide/detailed-billing.html) documentation. There are some differences in how the DBR is calculated and presented compared to the CUR.
