Data Transfer Tagging

A customer of mine is wondering if he can use cloudwatch, or any other tool for that matter for data transfer tagging.

He specifically wants to know what data exactly is transferred in big amounts, from which of his specif instances, to where, etc.

Basically - info that will let him detect what info they send to whom, that gets billed as Data Transfer.

You can use the cost allocation billing report to get visibility on the data transfer by tag (i.e Name).

In the filtering section, select 'Usage Type Group' and then 'EC2: Data Transfer....'.
