AWS creates snapshots without my knowledge

0

I just noticed that AWS has been creating snapshots for two of my volumes periodically since May 22, 2018 at 9:34:37 AM.

I have 1575 snapshots at this moment, the lifecycle manager shows no policy is planned, how could be this happen?

All I want at this moment is to try to turn it off, so no more snapshots.

Can anyone provide any insight into this?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Jerry,

I have checked your AWS account and I can see that there are 4 CloudWatch rules scheduled to automate EBS Snapshots.

Specifically, the CloudWatch rule which creates snapshots for the EBS "vol-0b8a3f39268c80392" is in the "ap-southeast-1" Region and it has the name "sg-snap"

The 4 Rules are:
us-east-1: rule/mysql-snap
eu-central-1: rule/mysql-alarm-data
eu-central-1: rule/mysql-dbsync-data
ap-southeast-1: rule/sg-snap

Please follow the below article to learn more about the specific CloudWatch rule:

Thank you,
VasosAWS
